entering gleek-dom

Apparently, once you enter Gleek-dom, there’s no going back. Is it possible for infectious pop ditties to become more infectious when choral-ized? Indubitably, the answer for me is a resounding YES! And so on Wednesdays the countdown to aural (Note: Yes, au-ral.) pleasure begins.

Let’s look at a short list of reasons to be watching:

  • Jane Lynch. She held a special place in my heart even before saying ‘20 oz porter house‘ (link by way of a surly lump, who looks after my celebrity gossip needs).
  • The Characters. Emotionally maladjusted teenagers…ok, and adults…make for good tv.
  • The Playlist. Recent numbers include tunes from Journey, Les Mis, Amy Winehouse, and Kanye West. In case you’re wondering, a few of those numbers had some help from 48 bottles of whiskey and a VMA that apparently belongs to Beyonce. (I’m such a jackass.)
  • Excited Gchats. To have a friend named Brendan be so excited over a tv dramical makes me immensely happy. Never have I seen such giddy excitement since Man Room, bottles of classy whiskies, Liverpool soccer, and other manly man things.
  • Surly Lumps May Not Be So Surly For A One-Hour Timeframe. This bullet point is yet to be discussed, and I have no evidenciary grounds for making this statement. But I’m making it anyway.

For those of you who enjoy Glee, I also encourage you to check out Dr. Horrible by Joss Whedon, featuring NPH. Episodes available on the interweb.
